"Falling Up"
with Narayan Eric Waldman and Friends

narayan.jpg

September 16 - 18, 2011
$290 Residential, $240 Non-residential

A weekend of Dances of Universal Peace, Walks, and Anything Else that Happens with Narayan Waldman and Friends.

"The lover sometimes falls into a hole. But down in that hole he finds something shining, worth more than any amount of money or power. . . Last night the moon came dropping its clothes in the street. I took it as a sign to start singing, falling up into the bowl of sky. The bowl breaks. Everywhere is falling everywhere. Nothing else to do. Here’s the new rule: break the wineglass, and fall toward the glassblower’s breath." - Rumi

The price includes immersion in a full weekend of dancing, six delicious all-vegetarian meals, admission to the Saturday evening Marsh House Zikr and ensconcement in the lush and beautiful environs of the Marsh House (See photos of 2009 Marsh House retreat on Photo Album page). We begin with a sumptuous dinner at 6 pm on Friday evening and end with a closing dance circle at 4 pm on Sunday afternoon. In between - many mysterious moments strung like pearls on the luminous necklace of singing and dancing in praise of divine unity and peace. There will also be opportunities to walk, rest, meditate, hot tub, and journal.

Saturday evening will feature the popular Marsh House zikr, led by Narayan, from 7:30 - 10:00. This sacred Sufi practice of remembrance of Divine Unity is also open to non-retreatants for $15, via registration and pre-payment.

There will also be a public DUP with Narayan and Friends on Sunday Evening, Sept. 18th at 7:00 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island, 20103 Hwy 525, 1.8 miles north of Freeland. A $5 - $15 donation is requested.
